I havnt  been getting  out to music stores lately but having some time on my hand this afternoon I decided to see whats new and cool in the world of guitar gear. I have the original dano pedals [big metal case fabtone, daddyo, coolcat chorus and dan echo\ not to confuse the name with the fab tone. But for the money spent you cant get a better od [all diy ods] not in the contest here as that would be to much competition. Than this little silver case dan-electro D-2overdrive [reading the advertizing off the box]" with authentic tube amp breakup". Now lets break this down, if your an average blue collar worker on a tight budget that plays guitar and has an occasional bout of gear acquisition syndrome. If you buy your lunch... lets say an average of 5.00 perday you can brown bag it for four days and buy this pedal. The case is reminescent of a[ miniature vers.] popular mo expensive pedal that reminds one of a rocket, at least it does to me. I cant think of the name right now. I just think it has a cool tone at descent room playing level with plenty of harmonics. At the store I played through an amp  [solid state] set at low level with really none of its own character, very sterile. This jewel brought it to life. OK does it sound tubey [thats one of the cliche's I am beginning to hate but I will use it here Yes it sounds kind of tubey allright. No its not transparent....I dont like effects that are transparent I want a compressor to be squishy, I want an OD to overdrive, dist. to distort,  I want whatever is going in to not sound the same coming out but thats enough of that. While I am on the topic of gear its a good thing that I didnt have a fat wallet as there were these gorgeous two tube pre-amp in a beautiful red anodized alum. case that was screaming " please buy me you dont have to pay rent next week. I had to make my escape I spent my lunch money and eating peanut butter next week :icon_wink: No I dont work for dano but am a big fan. troublerat

I just had to take the back off. One op-amp lm833. It sounds gorgeous through my classic 30, you really need to buy this pedal.http://www.ee.washington.edu/stores/DataSheets/linear/lm833.pdf
