Is there a way to wire 2 outputs into the Smallwart 200? Where one would be a fixed 9volts and the other would have the "dying battery" adjustment. This way you could power multiple effects but still have the "dying battery" option for some. OR, is there any way to add the "dying battery" to the ultra clean supply at GGG? Thanks!

Also, I have a transformer that puts out 1 amp. Is that too much for pedals? Will it damage them? Thanks as always!

First of all, the power rating (1 A) is a maximum. Current draw is determined by the load hanging on your output, so 1 A is absolute overkill for pedals (a good thing :icon_wink:).

About the multiple outputs, yes it is possible, but it is wise to add some protection. To get two outputs, just use two regulators (like a LM117 or LM317 or any voltage regulator) and connect both of the inputs to your transformer. Now here is the but; the two outputs have a common ground. This means you might get a ground loop noise (like you can get with a daisy chain), but more importantly; you need to make sure you NEVER connect both a negative ground and a positive ground effect at the same time. Doing this makes a short circuit, which is not a good thing.

To protect yourself from this it is wise to put a fuse on each output, which is a good idea anyway. Also fuse the primary side of the transformer for safety.

If you want to be have completely isolated outputs, you will need either a transformer with multiple secondary windings or multiple transformers. Also see RG's article on the Spyder.
