I've decided to build Howie's Metal Simplex for my second DIY Stompbox but I am so far unable to find any pc board layouts or other information besides the schematic. Being very new to the scene, i'm not sure if I drew the pc board layout correctly and wanted to get a double check from the experts (you guys  ;)).

Sorry it seems i'm a fool and posted the picture incorrectly. Here's a link to the pc board layout I drew and the schematic...

I built that one, but it's on perf. Great sounding for a simple circuit, though.  :icon_cool:

It seems you still have, but I think we can cut and paste the link.

Is the PC board layout I drew correct though? That was my main reason for the post... It's in the picture that I posted, the schematic is on the right and my layout for the PC board is on the left.

I did a quick lookover on the PCB layout, and I don't see any mistakes. Something doesn't look right at the wiper of the volume control, you have it connected to ground? That would be the output of the circuit...  :icon_confused:

i also checked your pcb layout over.  looks good except for the tone and volume hoookups.  as paul says, you want the middle/wiper lug on the volume pot to go to your output jack (not "from ground" as indicated).  also the tone hookup is a little confusing.  it looks like you have the right idea on the pcb, but not on the pot that you show.  i think the tone lug you show going to ground goes to the other connection that you show on the board for the tone pot.

hope this helps.  i'm looking forward to hearing how it works out.

MetalUpYerEye

Yeah I wasn't sure on the pots, as the only box i've built so far was the Electra and it only has a volume and the only other pots i've worked with have been volumes/tones inside my guitars. I think I know how it is supposed to go and I was going to re-draw the volume/tone and post it but is it possible that someone could draw it out and post it for me in order to avoid re-drawing and re-posting it 30 times and other common amateur confusions?

ok ... but just this once  :icon_wink:   sorry about the size ... i am on the road and my tools are limited.  i approximated your layout. :icon_biggrin:

edit:  i revised the picture for you re your question about pot lugs.

MetalUpYerEye

Ah, thanks Gauss. I was mainly looking for the wiring on the pots, but it helps to see the entire thing laid out before me. Now to being wielding my soldering iron!

Which lugs are which on the pots? I understand which are supposed to connect to each other but I cant distinctify lug 1 from lug 3. Which one is 1 and which is 3?
