Dumb Vero Question

Hi fellas,

I've built quite a few pedals but always used ready made PCB's.  I fancy having a go at some vero layouts.  So here's the dumb question (and I have searched the forum but not found the answer).  Are the vero layouts shown with components facing up and the copper traces on the bottom (other side).  Just want to be sure so I don't cut the traces the wrong way round (almost like the mirror image).

Cheers

Given the variety of representation styles out there (wanna know how many folks confused PnP vs photoetch layouts and etched their boards backwards?), not a dumb question at all.

What you see in all those lovely Vero layouts in the gallery is how you would see the parts laid out with respect to the rows of holes.  The copper side is obviously underneath the board, and the discontinuities you see in the layouts show where the cuts need to be underneath.

In other words, what you see is what you *would* see if the board were made of glass...rather than fibre-glasss.

Thanks Mark.  I guessed that was the case but wasn't sure.  It may therefore make it easier for me (i.e. less prone to making a mistake) to flip the image of the vero layout around using one of my computer programs (so that it would look like I was viewing the vero layout from behind the computer screen, if that makes any sense) so I don't need to have to keep turing the board around in my hands.

Oh by the way, I tried your variable recovery ross mod using a SPDT.  Worked a treat.  Cheers.
