Ok, i've been DIY stompboxing for 2 weeks, with an Electra Distortion and a Howies Metal Simplex under my belt.

I'm ready to build my ass a real pedal, something worth the work, and that something is a TS808 Tubescreamer (otherwise known as the reason why I started this whole DIY Stompbox charade)

I need to know a few things first...

Where can I get all the resistors, capacitors, diodes, transistors, and the JRC4558D preferably from the same place but if not then what 2 places?
Where can I get a super-heavy-duty 3PDT stomp switch?
What kind of enclosure should I use as far as size/material/etc?
Where can I get the 3 potentiometers necessary in 16mm instead of the gargantuan 24mm?

um. i thought i had more questions but aftre a glass of scotch on an empty stomach, i cant remember. i'll probably remember tomorrow. thanks for your helps guys :)(

Live in Europe, North America or else?
Try to order with electronic web stores/credit card.
Then it's easy.

My advice:

Europe -> www.Musikding.de
US -> www.smallbearelec.com
global -> www.futurlec.com

get the 3pdts from Aron (here). he sells them for very cheap. but yeah, i recommend smallbear or mouser too.

Also, if you are wanting a super-easy way to just get everything at once, you may consider using this service:

Great guy, great service, and excellent results. :)

Take care,

The resistors, diodes, caps, transistors and IC (it doesn't need to be the 4558) you can find in almost any eletronic parts store. For the switch, you can buy them from Aron. Enclosures you can get from Small Bear, or even in the local parts store. And the 16mm pots, you can find them in Small Bear or in a good electronic parts store.

Don't forget John at effectsconnection:

Good prices on 3PDT switches, Switchcraft jacks, 16mm Pots (without the little tabs), the DC jacks we all like, and enclosures (the 125B's are awesome), and he's an authorized Planet Waves dealer too!  Give him a try...
