why are some of the tracks on breadboard layouts colored? What is that? Call me stupid if you want.   ;D

Like this one, for instance: http://www.elixant.com/~stompbox/smfforum/index.php?topic=39819.0

I'm sorry if this is a dumb question, but I'm just starting my first build. I have a basic knowledge of electronics, because I used to do a lot of XBox modding. However, never really had to read a lot of schematics, or do any audio tweaking...it was mostly LEDs, cold cathodes, and extra ventilation/thermal dissipation.

Thanks in advance for the help.

I believe theyre colored for easier Identification, everything on the green track is connected, input is clearly defined by one color,breaks in the track are marked by the little square with an x. I believe if you look at it again its pretty easy to catch on. Thats why its become so popular here. There are tutorials also

Thanks man, I was just worried cuz I'm about to start my first build.

Any chance someone could link me to these tutorials, or do I *sigh* have to do a bunch of work myself?  :'(

While this does help with identification, that is not why they are labeled. They are colored to tell you what pieces of the board are at supply or ground voltages.

Ground = Green
Power = Red
Vbias = Pink
Input = Aqua (but why it's labeled, i do not know)
