Ive searched this place up and down and I cant find anything. I am wanting to build a bypass switch that is really kind of like a channel selector. It will have one input, and then switch between two sets of pedals, and then one output. All the bypass box designs i have seen are like the one pictured below, which has two switch (one for each loop) but I want one switch that allows switching between the first loop and the second.

Think of a DPDT switch's lugs like this:

1  2
3  4
5  6

Wire your bypass box's main input jack to 3, and the main output jack to 4.  Now wire Loop 1's send jack to 1 and its return jack to 2.  Wire loop 2's send jack to 5 and its return jack to 6.

If you use a 3pdt, you could also switch between two LEDs - one for each loop.

Hope this helps...

Thanks. That does help alot. If i wanted to use a 3PDT switch and LEDs, how would I wire that up?

1 2 a
3 4 b
5 6 c

As said above, input to 3, main output to 4, Loop 1's send to 1 and return to 2. Loop 2's send to 5 and return to 6.

For the LEDs there are a couple of ways. The way I do it, I wire the battery/power jack live to (b). Then have one of my LED+resistor on (a) and the 2nd LED+resistor on (c). All the grounds are tied together.

The one box that I built keeps the LED power supply completely independent from the signal ground. That way, I completely avoid the possibility of popping noises when switching. The downside is that I have to use the bypass switch to depower the circuit. That's not a problem for me, but some others may not like that...
