Dragonfly's AMZ Muffmaster beginner question

I'm looking at the Dragonfly's AMZ Muffmaster and I don't understand the single solid line from the middle strip to the one directly above it (in between the .01u cap and the 100k resistor).  Is this a wire that is run from one strip to the next?

there are apparently two layouts.  that is the smaller one.

also, the red/white boxes are for cutting the traces, correct?

i found the answer in the colorsound vero tutorial (how i missed that link, i'm not sure).

the vertical black line is a jumper, and the red/white boxes are cut traces.
