I saw this project on GGG and was wondering about it.  Has anyone built this circuit?  Am I correct in thinking that the pedal portion goes into the input of your amp, while the offboard reverb tank is plugged into the pedal?  My princeton does not have real spring reverb, and I have been settling for digital spring emulations.  This circuit really interests me and I would mainly like to know if anyone has built it/heard it.  Or if there are considerable limitations when running a real spring reverb signal into the front end of an amp as opposed to reverb signal being introduced in later stages as per the traditional fender reverb.

  Used it today

The circuit is a spring driver amp, then a recovery amp from spring output, Mixer for effect/reverb. I have mine w/PS...on a board is a RACO with in/out for signal and Rev Tank, DC Jack, and an Accutronics Rev.Tank. [~11'' IIRC].

Sounds like a spring reverb tank, Digital reverbs I've tried are cool, sound different than the SCR.

Main difference being where it sits in the chain, ITCase, different isn't necessarily better one way or the other, and not really that different. The other difference is Tubes Driving/recovering/mixing...='s tubes in signal path, a 'different' yes, preferrable if you have it, SCRU does great reverbs and the circuit/building/components required are all AloT less.
For the SCRU, observing the ohmage requirements of the amp, and obtaining a tank that meets them is important . Accutronics sells them.
Convention creates following, following creates convention.

I stock the 4DB2C1D Accutronics tank that GGG recommends, also have the Switchcraft #3502A RCA plugs and other electronic parts. The SCR is a very good effect, and not a difficult build if you buy the GGG board. E-mail me at smallbearelec@ix.netcom.com if you want my parts list.
