Can this soft switching be used for some of our stuff???

I've never seen 47k pots before.  Must be a "precision" circuit.

It already is in a way.  It ramps a cap up slowly so DC levels (in this case power to the circuit) change at a rate that doesn't cause a sudden shift, which would be interpreted as a signal and amplified - hence the pop/clunk normally associated with turn on.

The gradual ramp up is used in most bypass - the caps on the gates of FETs and IC switches for example.
