FARTING!

Hi everyone, just been trying to sort my ' THE MESS' pedal. It's still very quiet but with good distortion etc fat switch ok. But noticed when I use heavey atteck on the guitar it farts really load, then the really quiet distortion kicks in . Does this sound like a cap has gone? and would that sound normally be from the electrolytic cap?

Any help in matter gratelly recieved
