I have a real one.  Pretty much the rhythms are set by a threshold detector that triggers the percussions when you strum hard enough.  With practice you can accompany yourself with bongos or hi-hat.  It is a fun device.

Very complicated schem and many functions. Looks like some drum sounds like bongo and such are filters tuned near oscillation, when you give a pulse to it it gives decaying sine wave. My first drum box used LM324 for filters, it was a little noisy but kick and snare were not that bad, almost felt like Roland TR808 or it is just my imagination. I have seen circuits for such filter oscillator done with opamps or cmos inverters or transistors. It was said that making decay longer than real drum sounds good with these. Those inductors are for filtering the noise for some percussion instruments I believe.

I'm a big fan of analogue drum sounds too! I just built a clone of a Boss PC-2 which I trigger from the accent output of my Boss DR-110. Adds another sound to an already great budget box. To my ears, it can get pretty close to a TR-606, especially when modded.

If anyone's interested I can post the schematic of the PC-2 (actually an Amdek Clone). I also have a soundsample for interested parties.
EDIT: Scratch that, you can find all the info at DiscoFreq's site.

How about this?

Noise and lfo!

The Drumfire has more control over noise, but no lfo! (boo hoo)

I have the service manual for the G-1 and G-2.  Sent off the schematics for the 1.
