How do you drill your 125B boxes, i.e. what distance from edges? I need to drill mine for TS-808 clone with 3 pots, stomp switch, led, one toggle switch, in/out jacks on sides and 9V jack on the back.
I don't want to screw up and have problem with fitting everything inside.
Tnx!

I seem to recall someone having a printable drilling template somewhere around here. Try using the search function for it, it works fairly well.

You can find the templates at GEOFX: http://www.geofex.com/Article_Folders/boxtemplate.htm

Just measure everything at least twice and make sure you account for the nuts and washers when measuring diameters if they stick out beyond the rest of the part.

Yeah, think ahead and measure it many times before you drill...
I just drilled some holes for pots and was very happy with them, nice and tightly together, and then I realized the knobs wouldn't fit  :-[

sometimes i just set the components on the top of the box(taking into account the width of the box itself) to see how everything fits/looks. I switch between setting the actual pots on top and the knobs to make sure they will both fit. Its a pretty quick easy way to see how it might all go together. I'll usually make a mark where i think the pots should go and then actually measure where i made the marks and slightly adjust for preciseness and evenness. Then i double check with the knob/pots on the new, slightly adjusted marks.

The most reliable method is to put the enclosure on a scanner and scan at 300dpi.  Do it top down and bottom down.  Then use Photoshop, Paint, whatever you have, to make  crosshairs for drilling.  You can also scan pots, switches, batteries, PCBs, and jacks, to get an accurate layout.  Then print out the crosshairs, tape the paper to the enclosure, and use the center tap.
What does this button do?

Thanks, good idea.  :D

My first box I just drilled spontaneously.  I ended up with the 2 jacks, pots, battery, perf, and all wiring in 1/2 of a 125b box.  The other half of the box was empty, except for the switch.  Bad planning  :-[

yeah, I got some strange box (not for pedals obviously) for my Ts808 and it couldn't fit, I lost time on drilling and spraying for nothing :)
