so im building a gargletron form tim escobedo's circuits,, now i have  some questions

#1 whats the value for the input cap? i think i could use a .1uf what you think?

#2 the opamps dont specifie the + - inputs on of them goes to Vr, would that be + or -?

#3 can i use a 100k hot pot to sweep instead of the that 10k? what values should i adjust for this to happen? if not is there anyway to turn the 100k into a 10k? with parallel resistors? what values?

i was thinking about using 2 CLM6000 and control the voltage from the 100k pot and use it like on RG's site for the remote wah.. any suggestions? i have enough parts to build it today and i would like to put it together.

If it ain't broke...   ...it will be soon.

Hi Nero..
well.. you're right.. input cap .1 or .01 (what you like)
            + input goes to Vr
,akin the sweep pot 100k you'll get a tinny variation in the center and a huge variation on both ends..not so good::
what you might like to try its adding resistor in parallel. start with 100k.. that will give you a 50k pot, 1M will give you a 5k pot, so it should be something like 500k or so..

ok..thats were my $0.0000002

keep in mind it is not an "automatic" gargler. You actually have to rotate the gargle pot while u play, so you would need a Wah-type pedal.
I eventually realised this.

Thanks guys i actually built it last night and alll i got was a little boost, but i wired the - to Vr on the opamp cuz i read that before, but im gonna make the changes today.

as for the pot,, how should i wire it? a 500k from 1 to 3 on the pot? or a 250k  between 2 and 3 and another one between 2 and 1?? THANKS!

SISKO

Ok listen.. if it works.. DO NOT CHANGE the - to +. i may recall incorrectly.. try.
as far for the pot you must  stick a 500k from lug 1 to 3

Cool, but the circuit will mute when i insert the IC in the socket and when i take it out it works again! so im thinking maybe its because of the inputs and with a 25k pot the pot acts as a GAIN control, its so weird

SISKO

Youre right..do it

ok i got it to work!!!!!! but not with a 100k  :-\ i tried many ways but i still cant make it work with, it sounds kinda like my talkbox! i was a mazed when i heard it,,, is there any 10k LDR out there?

I built this quite awhile back, and I believe there are some notes archived on it, where I added the "Push Me, Pull You" circuit in front of it. If you think it sounds like a talk box now, add that in! I may have the notes somewhere, but there was a guy that built two of them about the time I built mine, and had them working opposite each other on a ganged pot. That would have to sound awesome. It would be nice if some of the more tech types could figure out how to use a 100K hot potz in there instead of the 10K, since it's standard. It so frustrated me when I first built it, that I couldn't figure out why I couldn't get any talking sounds out of it.  Then I found out that the "Gargle" pot although a 10K, was actually supposed to be actuated by a foot treadle like a standard wah. I initially kept playing it harder and harder, because I thought it was supposed to trigger an auto-wah effect!
