Hey guys,

I posted a build report this week about my modified tube reamer mutant.  It works very well and after tweaking the tone stack it sounds great.  The one problem I am having is that when I switch in the effect, there is a slight delay in the effect coming on.  Maybe half a second or so.  Could this be a bad switch, some other overlooked fault of mine?  I am scratching my head here.

Here are some details, tube reamer front end  running a 741 chip with .47 input cap 1M resistor in the fb loop for more gain, 1.0uf output cap, Big muff style tone stack, this all goes into a jfet output very similar to the shaka ( if orget which version 3?  ).

I would post a schem if I had it drawn out.  Any help would be greatly appreciated

Update

It's Fixed!  I had th wires on the switch connecting theto the led and ground switched.  I am not sure how this effected things or why it even worked to begin with but I disconnected everything that wasn't essential to the circuit (led, dc jack, etc..) and it worked fine.  I started hooking everything back up and when I got to the led the problem came back.  Itraced all my wiring and there it was plain as day.  It's amazing the things you see after walking away for awhile.  Last night I could swear I checked everything twice.

Hi!

How did you wire the switch? DPDT, 3PDT, with/without Millenium bypass, etc...

the switch is 3pdt.  The led lights up right away, it's just the effect that lags for about half a second.

It seems that some cap is being charged when you turn the effect on (correct me on this one if i'm wrong), this may be the cause of the delay. Try making it stock(if possible) and see if it happens. If it does then there must be something wrong with either the schem or the mod.
