Hi Everyone, has anybody got any ideas or even schematics / layouts/ pcb's for this idea. I have a parker fly and fancy switching from mag, piezo or both via a foot pedal. It would require a stereo input going to either or both of two outputs sort of like a funny A/B A/B box. Has anybody managed to do this or have you got any other ideas for switching

Cheers as Always

You switch pickups via a footswitch?! I thought that was on the guitar...(at least mine is)

Been there, done that. I can't share it, though, because it is in the process of being patented at the moment. The simple version of my box is here: http://www.diyguitarist.com/Guitars/FlyBox.htm - it does not, however, prevent ground loops when two amplifiers are connected together. The one being patented does.

Cheers for the reply Paul, not quite sure you got the big picture. The signal coming from guitar would be both mag and piezo at once running down a stereo lead into a foot pedal once there the signals would go to their respective outs with footswitch control, therefore the 3 way selector on guitar is left in the middle (both) position at all times and stomping on a switch would engage either, or, both etc.

Does your patented pedal do this or is it a splitter box with isolated grounds only?

No, it's more of a fancy splitter box with a few twists. All you need to do is build a box that grounds out the mag or piezo signal. That would be simple to do.

I've had mine for over 10 years, Nitefly II, absolutely wonderful guitar would not get ride of it for the world. They are great guitars, much better than Gibson/Fender. IMHO of course.  :)

Its the first time I've seen your box Paul, thats a very nice idea.

Thanks. Now that I have a Parker Mojo Nitefly, I'll never go back. The only other guitar I have that comes close to being liked as much is my Ibanez S470FM - british green w/ flame maple top. Looks and sounds great. But... it ain't a Nitefly.  :icon_wink:

No doubt, I try playing high-end strats to see if it gets close to my Nitefly neck pup tone, and its just not there, now I can get my parker to sound like a high-end strat by rolling my tone knob back, but who would want to do that! Parkers RULE.

Are you planning on going to market with your box? I'd be interested in getting it sometime if you are. I have an older Nitefly that requires the stereo cable to even use the piezo pup.

That's the plan - eventually.

Really?! That's interesting, I didn't know that.

Yea I need a special cable to use it. There is a Nitefly history .PDF thats on the parker website somewhere. That explains alot about all the early versions of the nitefly, I have a version II, maple everything.  ;D

Gee, I didn't know that. I need to get my Parker Fly/Nitefly history down!  :icon_redface:

Yea its pretty interesting, I should have just linked to it before as it takes a little digging:

Its in the References section titled Nitefly History, there is quite a few versions I never knew about until I read it. Mine is very old, has a different SN system then the current models.
