building a boss FS-5U footswitch.

i'm planning to get a cube 30. it needs a boss fs-5u non latching footswitch...
heard its real easy to make. so i wonder if anyone of u pros cld shed some light on this supposedly simple footswitch. im tight on cash and dont wanna spend extra on 3 footswitches.

izzit as simple as this? simple...but i dont really knw what wires to use...or what switches...

Yes, it's that simple. Be careful what switch you use though, some equipment is a little sensitive to switch bounce. Also some stuff (not much) wants a normally closed switch not a normally open one.

The Cube 30 uses an NC switch.  It'll work with an NO but won't latch until you press and release the switch, rather than just after a press.  Discovered that when I built my own footswitch for mine.  :o

I'm looking at trying to build a boss fs-5u but i cannot find info on it anywhere, i just tried that search link and it must be outdated because i get an error... any info on ths switch would help me out greatly, schematics or anything, please and thank you!

That tempo box of mine has been serving me well. And it takes up a heck of a lot less room on your pedalboard!  :icon_cool:
