there is a program that calculates cap codes and other various things, there is a link in a thread around here somewhere.  its a great thing to have.

I believe the first two numbers are the value in picofarads, and the 3rd number is the number of zeros to place after that. 

So 100K = 10 picofarads.  The K means +- 10%
223J = 22,000 picofarads, or 22 nano farads, or .022 microfarads.  J means +- 5%
