Hi guys. I see this just goes to ground which in an amp is usually a meg resistor, but because it's not on the parts listing I figured I'd ask. Anyone know what it is and why it's vague? -ph

I'd like to help you, but I don't know what you're talking about.  :)
I don't know what "Corrral Choral" is (or "Corral Choral" or "Coral" for that matter).  Can you tell us what this is, and perhaps what schematic you're using?

Sorry, it's the CE-2 pedal at tonepad. I put a 1meg across the input jack and it doesn't seem to have any effect on the fact that the thing doesn't work. Can't find a mistake in it at all but will trace it out tomorrow. -ph

The resistor in question is a pulldown resistor, which provides a path to ground for the input cap, in order to reduce (hopefully eliminate) popping when switching.
It's labeled as "R" because a range of values will suffice.  1M is typical, and 2.2M or even 4.7M can work as well.  A search for "pulldown resistors" or "pulldown" should give you lots more info about this topic.

In the words of R.G:
Quote from: R.G.The signal lugs on the box are not tied to the effect circuit when a pedal is bypassed. The whole point of pulldown resistors is to pull the input/output capacitors to ground when the effect is bypassed, and they can't do that if they're permanently mounted on the in/out jacks. They have to be permanently attached from the outside cap of the effect circuit input and output to ground to be effective.

This thread also has a good long post by Mark Hammer.

So, your 1M should be fine, and should not determine whether the pedal works or not.  I would look elsewhere for the problem (with an audio probe, if you haven't already).

Good luck, sir.

Thanks Alex. That's the plan tomorrow. I have a little amp I made into a probe. Thanks for the answer from RG too. I have a mind like a spagetti strainer. I suspected it wouldn't nix the build with it not there. And I never did bypass it. Haven't even put it in a box yet. Cant' get myself to work on this anymore today. -ph
