Hi,

I'm looking to do my own effects loop into my little 9V Marshall Mini MS-2 amp.  I would appreciate if anybody is a bit knowledgable on the subject of ---diy effects loops---- could steer me to a source where I can learn how to implement it into my mini amp.  Reason being, is that this amp is good and portable, but would be even better with an effects loop to use the amp with delay and flange effects.  Any and all knowlegable responses are appreciated.  Thanks.

Welcome to the forum. :icon_biggrin:

I have not seen the schematic of the MS-2, but I wouldn't be surprised if it used a single chip amplifier with a very basic single transistor preamp.

I don't think you gain much by adding an effects loop to this critter. The input is probably buffered with a very similar circuit to the input buffer of most commercial pedals and I don't know if there is room in the box for the extra loop jack(s).

You may want to think about building a booster pedal if you want to drive your effects a little harder.

What is it you want to get out of the effects loop?

Hi,

Thanks for the reply it was appreciated.  I am new here so I dont know much of the terminology you guys use when referring to circuits, but that being said I'd like to install an effects loop into my mini marshall amp MS-2.  The reason is that everytime I plug my guitar>>delay>>MS-2, the sound of the delay is very muddied.  I dont prefer that sound very much.  I am aiming for something that is more clear, so from what I have read is that an effects loop solves that muddy sound by putting the effect before the power amp stage.  Here is something that I'm grateful to have found, the circuit of the MS-2   link: http://homepage.ntlworld.com/s.castledine/greenfuz/ms2.html

I'm looking to add a effects loop to this cricuit but in reality know not much of DIY effects loops, I did searches on the internet but had a hard time locating material on the subject.  Anybody and all slightly knowledgable on this topic please input your information.  Thanks again.
