I have scored a bunch of the (scarce!) MC1495 frequency multiplier that is used in this pedal, but I have no way to test them. Does anyone have an RM-1 with a socket in it?  I will pay a reasonable price (cash or store credit) for someone to check out four or five samples.

You can't just try it on a protoboard and build one of the test circuits to check it?

That datasheet has a ton of applications for that chip.  That's pretty cool!  Some of them do involve a fair amount of parts, though.  My apologies in advance if this is a dumb suggestion...most of mine are.

Not dumb...I just don't have time.

Ry

I have just what you're asking for and I would be more than willing to help out.

With your business, I can believe it. (!)  I'm sorry I can't help you, but I wish you the best of luck in getting the parts checked.  Thanks for your continued efforts to find weird parts on our behalf.

Hey Steve, since you've got your problem solved maybe I can take this a little off topic.
I was wondering if you're planning to buy up a load of opto-couplers and LDR's before they're banned in april.
Seems to me you might be able to get them cheap in surpluss sales, and this community will definitely be needing them at some point in the future.

That's a great news Steve! Those chips are getting rare...
I have a working homemade RM1 and count on me for checking the ICs.

Awesome!
You mean youve bought a quantity to sell?
When will we be able to buy them?

According to my distributor, Vactec has secured an exemption from the RoHS rules for the VTL5Cx. I will also check with Silonex.

Ry Hoffman has agreed to test the MC1495, and I will get parts out to him today. Will post for sale ASAP.
