i have build the Electra distortion:

and i have a noise problem how can i reduce it?
it like noisy "ss" when i play really annoying
i have a feelling that someone asked this question before but i didn't found it on the search....

I had that problem the first time I made it also. My issue was bad grounds.
I ended up grounding both jacks together as well as to the board and
that fixed my problem. Hope that helped.

i didn't understand you can you explain again?

Check out this picture.

If you look at the input jack on the left there is the terminal in the middle with the black wire going to the ground on the board
and on the output jack on the right of the picture the black wire also goes to ground. What i had to was to take a wire and connect those
jack terminals together as well as to the ground on the board to get the squelling to stop.
Actually I should have asked you what kind of noise are you getting. I was getting a lot of static and squelling and when i would touch
the jacks together it would go away so thats why i grounded them together. Does this help any?

i have rebuild the circuit and its working thank you!
it sounds not that good any way i think i am going to build the MXR+...
by the way if you pull out the diodes you wont get a lot of difference because its not using the diodes as the only clipping on the circuit its just using to much power for the transistor so you get distortion...

I actually like mine. What do you play it thru? I've noticed on mine that if i play
thru a tube head its good distortion and thru a SS its more of a fuzz. The only real complaint
I have about it is that there could be a little bit more treble, its a little bit muddy sounding
compared to my built in distortion. Eventually I will try to figure out what to change to fix that.
