Hi all!

I have the need to build a tremolo pedal and would love to build a EA trem; but there are some different versions...... (Improved version, Mosfet version, etc)..... wich one do you (the reader) like most?

I've made the *modified* one with the BS170 input stage by Gez.  Sounded so nice with the extra sparkle & boost...I preferred turning down the depth rather than bypass it!  I swapped the 1uf trio of caps w/.68s....to get the speed up.  Keeping in mind....it does not ever get a choppy sound...but a sweet one.

If more people don't chime in...try the search.  Lots of discussion & nice ideas.

Hi mate
I just built the ROG version with these changes > 2N7000(instead of BS170) - BC550C(instead of 2N5088) - 100K Linear(instead of 100K RA)
It could have a little more depth(not much)
I left 1uF's in place and it nearly gets fast enough. Would probly try 0.82uF's before I tried the 0.68uF's.
Overall it has a very nice tone and worth the build.
Plus the pulsing led is cool too!

pyrop ;D

Edit: Put up a sound sample for you. Depth Max - Speed 85-90% http://members.optusnet.com.au/pyrop/samples/trem2.mp3

Thanks all!

I used the search, nut never found a comparison of the different versions.... was just curious

Sorry if I was mis-leading.  Aside from what I mentioned...I don't suppose there would be much difference in the versions.  If you want a trem that is highly twealable...the Tremulous Lune has that reputation from what I've read.

Bernardduur

Yes, I already build one.....

But it is "too" flexible..... (can I say that) and want to experience some more tastes.....

Sorry, OT, but I am searching for a trem pedal that can mimick the sound of an old Fender Vibro-Champ tremolo.... Used the search, but did not find that much.

Any recommendations?

I really recommand you the tremulus lune from tone pad it's a wonderfull one.
It's an optical one witha lot of variation. It could be very choppy or very smooth very long or very short. There is a mod witch can add a sort of control of the spacing between the cutted sounds that's interesting and gives playing ideas.
I think it's really better than all the trem i've try or made....
Sorry for my bad english !!

OK, I made the Tremulus (again)  ::) and put some controls in the pedal (to be controlled by trimpot) because the one I am building it for didn't want all that mess on his pedal.....

Now it is basically depth, speed and gain.

Oh, I searched around but did not find a schematic for the "newer" version of the 3ms Tremulus Lune (version 2.4); so I made one

Here it is
