Hello all

I'm looking for cheaper-than-hammond-but-not-radioshack metal enclosures at Mouser;
They have some LMB and Deltron alternatives. Has anyone tried any of them? Opinions?

Thanks!

     I have not tried the ones you mention from Mouser, but for $6.50 Small Bear has a very sturdy aluminum Taiwanese 125B size enclosure. It measures 4.7" x 2.4" x 1.6" with ribbed walls. I not sure how "cheap" you are looking for, but these are great for the $. The raw finish is kinda rough but if you sand and paint that is no big deal. They also have other sizes available at very reasonable prices, much lower than the H@mm0nD$.

I initially liked a Deltron enclosure, until I used a center punch and the metal cracked into chunks.  Maybe it was a rarity, but I was NOT happy.

Those "Made in Taiwan" boxes are great, the only thing is if you plan to paint them you should sand down brushed sides cause the are too coarse (for me, of course). Other than that, you get cast aluminum enclosure for great price, what else one needs :)
