I was inspired by the AC128's I bought from Jack Orman and built the Veroboard (thanks to Dragonfly) version of the Maestro FZ1.
The only problem was the power lines were reversed on the original schematic (now corrected) That Q1 (or was it Q3?) got very, very hot...amazing! So one of my 5 AC128's was Torched....no pun intended! I wasn't getting a lot of gain from this circuit and finally settled on AC188's for Q2 and Q3. Even still I didn't think this project "deserved" a 10 buck enclosure so I made a wedge style enclosure from two triangle pieces of pine with some thin sheet metal purchased at Home Depots AC vents and registers dept. Kind of like the very early Electro Harmonix stuff and the Orpheum Fuzz. The metal was less than a buck. The sheet metal screws are a bit large but I had them in my junk bin so I used them. I used some rivets (also from the bin) to fasten the battery clip to the bottom plate of the pedal. Some spray paint on the wood and hammerpaint on the metal finished it off. Lacking a decent pair of tin shears some of the edges are a bit rough (the whole thing is a bit rough!) so I sanded them for safety.
The thing I liked about this project was the way the circuit board just slides into grooves cut into the wood sides and as it turned out, didn't need to be secured. Anyway take a look at the pics and don't laugh too hard!!!(LOL) It just occurred to me that I should probably be using carbon batteries with the germanium trannies.......Hmmmm

  Cool Box !
I don't remember having seen triangular enclosures, looks like the fit and the way the jacks go in the bottom of the back works out good !
Convention creates following, following creates convention.

Thanks Pete...The case is pretty deep in the back so the jacks fit in there nicely.
