Another Ruby problem

Okay, I wanted to just ask before I go through the entire debugging process...

I perfed up a ruby, following the layout at ROG, and I can't get ANY sound out of the thing, not even any noise if I touch any connections! Also, the chip heats up pretty nicely while the juice is flowing.. Is there any distinct problem I should look for? Anyone ever had this type of problem before?

I seem to have very bad luck with headphone amps...
