Potentionometer pins ..where's pin 1 noob?...sorry

I am wondering what pin is 1 on a potentionometer with three pins.?  trying  to make a od-1.

in most layouts pin (lug) 1 is the lug farthest to the right when looking at the pot from the bottom with the lugs pointing down.  check out the layouts at GGG www.generalguitargadgets.com if this doesn't make sense.  welcome to the forum!

I've always hated pot pin numbering schemes. Never could remember them.

I could remember which pin was the clockwise one when facing the shaft, though. The one convention I liked on schematics was with an arrow across the wiper pointing toward clockwise rotation. Easy, simple.
