DIY footswitch for amp

i have a fender frontman amp, which has a jack for a footswitch to go between drive and clean.  however, the footswitch didnt come with the amp, and i am playing some stuff that would be way easier if i have the footswitch instead of trying to push the drive button on the amp with my foot at the right time. so, does anyone know how i would go about making a footswitch for my amp? there are only 2 channels so i think i will need a dpdt footswitch, but i dont know where to go from there.
