does anyone know the value of the ldr and which led to use with the schematic for the Supasustain pedal? its not specified, and no one seems to know. if any of you have built one or just happen to know, please let me know the value to use. thanks.

I built one with a cheap LDR from Maplins and a high res LED which was way too bright. I replaced the led with a bog standard 5p one and it worked fine. Most articles I've read about LED/LDR use say that the actual components don't really matter and any combination should work.
I've asked about optocouplers before (as have others) and not got a reply. How does the transistor work? Is it just the same as a resistor?
