Silicon debugging question

I´m trying to debugg a silicon fuzzface I just put together. Before I cash out on a voltmeter tomorrow I have one question:

The pedal is dead quiet in bypass mode. I struck a chord on the guitar and twisted the board gently as per the debugging tips on this site. I got a loud crackle, two seconds of glorious fuzztone and then silence. Also, I get hum when I touch one of the solder connections on the board.

Is this a cold solder joint? I´m at work right now so I can´t work with the pedal at the moment. I just wanted a lead or tip so I know where to start when I get home.

Thanks, Jörgen

Sounds like some sort of bad connection. Bad solder joint may be the problem. You can start by checking & reheating the solder lugs on the input jack & go from there. At least you got some signal, intermittant though it was.

Thanks, I´ll get on it!
