Went to their website and it looks as though it's no longer made (non RoHS), but they have ones around the 5000 mcd mark.  Only drawback is they only have a 20 degree view angle...good enough for me.

I just remembered what I was using for the LEDs in the last ones I built, and it seemed to work well, if I remember well of course...

I was using a bicolor LED and was only swithing the color of the LED with 2 transistors, so I think there was no clicks because of that.

I'm about to work on effects again, so I'll check that again.
