Anyone have a layout for this build?

Marcos - Munky

Or a real size layout? I got one from somewhere, but it's way bigger than the real size.

Go to my site:
http://www.4thlevelmedia.com/stompboxes.html

Right-click, save-as to save the file. When you open the file, don't open it in Internet Explorer. Open it in either Windows Picture Viewer or some other photo software (like Adobe Photoshop). Internet Explorer resizes the file when you print it out, so it's larger. Printing it out in something else keeps it the original (ready to print on PNP blue) size.

Yeah, got it from your site. Even if I prit it using any software, it is very big. The only way I got to print it at something near the real size was to open it using Irfan View and print it using scale size instead of the original size (from the image), and with X and Y set at 1 (if you use IV you will see what I'm talking about).

This is the reason I put all my layouts in PDF files.

How do you make PDF files?
As far I as I know you have to buy Acrobat Pro, which is very expensive.

I use this.

Here's a direct to computer sample through the PT-80 delay.

Epiphone Les Paul on slightly humming rear PU.
Not my best playing. It's a little fizzy too.

This is a funny little circuit. It seems to change as time goes by. At 1st there seemed to be plenty of gain, but then it seemed to get grainy. I decided to change some fets out tonight and tried some J201s in the place of the MPF102s that I had in there. I replaced #2, 3, 4, & 5 and couldn't get #3 to bias(I tried about 20) so I finally put one of the MPF102s back in there and it biased right up. I think the gain is back now, but who knows about tomorrow.

Are you using battery or PSU ?
I've found that "dying battery" is not good with Jfet emu's they seem to get splatty and wierd
quite quickly at under 8 volts.
I've had a hard time with one or two, when just like you, it's taken several Jfets to get one to
bias in correctly.
I think that my Q3 has a 2k7 or 3k3 off the source pin ..... "all I had" not sure if that helps ?

I'm using a wall wart at about 9.62v using my little regulator circuit. It's pretty consistent. I've got 3.9k at that source per Gringo's layout. I've read that makes it hard to bias that FET though it does fine with a MPF102 in there. So I've got an MPF102 at Q1 & 3, and J201 at Q2, 4, & 5. I did the work too late to do much testing last night so I'll check when I get home from work tonight.

If you have problems biasing Q3, you might want to go with a higher value (250k) trimpot in that position.
Cut it large, and smash it into place with a hammer.

It might be worth making R12 a 250k on your layout because I tried a bunch of J201 in there and none would even get close with 100k.

When I built the flipster which was my last jfet sim I had to use a 1M trim to bias one of the fets. Its not that they wont bias its just that the resistance the fet will bias at is such a small turn of the trim pot. Perhaps a crappy taper trim...
