I finished my Tremulus Lune today, complete with all 5 control knobs and the ramp up/ramp down mod using a NKK locking lever on/off/on switch, all in a Hammond 1590BB box too.  All I can say is....FANTASTIC!  This thing kicks the EA Tremolo's butt all over the place ;)

When I first plugged it in, I had some serious clicking...actually it sounded more like a loud pop.  I ended up soldering a 0.001uF capacitor across the trimpot that adjusts the volume, and I also added a 100uF capacitor from V+ to ground and problem solved!  Best tremolo around!  Expect a project page for this pedal at Fuzz Central in the very near future :)

yeah the tremulus lune is awesome, also i highly recommend the 4ms phaseur fleur.

You may want to okay a project page on this unit with 4ms before you do it. It is their pedal. I realize you would credit them with the design and link to their website but it's probably polite to ask first.

slackhammer

what is the cost of parts for the tremulus lune?

phillip

I didn't total up the parts cost, but for the version I built, it was probably $40 or less.

phillip,
i noticed you subsituted many parts from the list on the common sound web site.  Care to explain any of those?  I'm getting ready to order everything from mouser (unless someone has a better suggestion) and was curious about the substitutions (and the on/off/on) switch...

There is already a parts list (with costs) available on the commonsound site. Is it possible to change the labelling of your link to make it clearer that this is the parts list for *your* build? Any kind of confusion may result in more 'please help me' support emails to commonsound or 4ms.

Nice lookin' build!

I just used parts in my build that I was familiar with using, instead of the parts that are specified on the Commonsound parts list.  I didn't run into any problems building it...worked fine the first time except for the "clicking" which was solved by adding two new parts...the 0.001uF capacitor across the trimpot and the 100uF from V+ to ground.

The on/off/on switch is there for the optional ramp up/ramp down (sawtooth) modificaiton (all the stuff highlighted in blue on my schematic).  If you don't want that mod, then all you have to do is leave the blue stuff off and it'll be the standard model.  You also don't have to use that $6 NKK locking lever toggle switch.  There are cheaper SPDT on/off/on switches available from Mouser, like part number 10TC235, which is a Mountain Switch miniature toggle switch, SPDT on/off/on, $2.09 each.

The main thing i noticed was the different resistors. Being a newbie, I didn't know if that made a difference.

phillip

I just specified 1% metal film resistors because they're tighter tolerance and less suceptible to noise/hiss in the circuit.

Hey,

I've just buyed the parts to built your Tremulus tremolo, but I saw there was no 1N4001 on the schematic and even in the parts list alltough it was placed on your layout.  Do you accually need this diode,

thanks in advance,

Bram

IIRC That's a reverse polarity protection diode, if so, and if you're using a power supply instead of battery, it is unnecessary, if you're real good at not reversing the battery too...one reverse polarization could wreak havoc...
I haven't looked at the schematic lately, IIRC the other diodes are 1n4148 ilk...
If the 1n4001 is at the power connection it'd probaly be a protection diode.
Convention creates following, following creates convention.
