Hi !!!
im just putting together a BSIB 2, but i dont have this 250 pf cap...can i replace it with a 220pf or a 270 pf ?
I'll wait four an answer to continue  :icon_neutral:
Thank you !!!!

Short answer - YES,

it's there to eliminate RF other high frequency nastiness, either 270pF or 220pF should acceptable.

PS. Is your tone pot 100k Log or 100k Lin?

Pierre

ok !!! thank you !...but to be honest, i could not wait and i decided to put a 220 pf (film)...As for the pot, i used a 100k Log...
I just finished the effect 15 min. ago, so i cant give a definitive opinion...but it works, and i like it very much !!! Im going to experiment a little with fets and see (hear) if there's signifficant changes in the tone...
Thank you !!!

OK there is some confusion about the tone pot - it SHOULD be 100k LIN - there was a typo error on the List of Materials at GGG which has now been corrected. The schematic always said that  the pot should be Linear.
You'll find that a log pot will have a very small usable region.

Enjoy.

Pierre

yeah ! you are right and i thank you very much !...i was just wondering wy the tone pot was only usefull just in the last 1/4 portion...
Now im just checking the voltages, they are not exactly the same as GGG's chart, some are a little higher and some lower  :icon_neutral:
im powering it with a 9.5V regulated PS (  Ultra Clean PS)...but it sounds pretty good to my ears...and even pushing it with a TS clone...
