I had the same problem. I installed a 100k lin pot where the 33k resistor goes (next to the inductor). At one end of the pot I still have the dead spot, but it cleans up as I turn the pot, so I'm guessing this is the res your looking for :)

are u talking about the resistor that u change for the vocal/q mod?

if so i ahve a 68 k resistor in ther enow. i can put in a 100k and see what it does

Yep. All I did was remove the 33k resistor and in it's place I used a 100k pot. (Wiring the same a s the simple mods/tips section of this site)

the thomas organ wah i mentioned in the footnote at the bottom of the original post is in. i got it for $25 bucks on ebay because the seller said it wasn't working properly. all it needed was a pot. i tried the pot that i had taken out of my project wah in it to see, and it works perfect. i ahve 2 of the "black top" pots on the way from  small bear (one for each wah) that shipped yesterday. this way they will both have the same taper. i'm really excited about this.  anybody here know how to date these things?

as for the wah i started this post about, i'm waiting for the pot to get here to see if what's happening is just a pot issue. i really think it is. hopefully the pots will be in 2moro.
