hey, I was wondering if anybody had any ideas for boosting the level of a guitar signal enough to use with synth modules.
Normally they expect signals around 5v-pp, which is about ten times the signal level of a guitar pedal.
Is it possible to get that sort of amplification from a common op-amp like a TL072 running on +/-18v (to match the synth modules)???

Ken Stone did that on his excellent synth page, and even sells a PCB with all the fixins for what you're thinking about, + it has a bipolar power supply for the synth module.
