General Guitar Stuff.. Hahaha

Hi guys I wasn't sure exactly where to post this but I decided that since you guys know tons about guitars 'n stuff... Well here it is...

I recently purchased a Gibson Les Paul Studio that plays like a dream... However the pickups seem to be set unusually close to the strings. I've read that Gibson supposedly has setup parameters for pickup height and was wondering if those measurements are taken between the front of the pickup cover or the top of the screws in the pickup.

I don't have the actual numbers but Gibson factory spec is to measure from the top of the pole pieces (screws) to the bottom of the string.

Thanks, I wasn't sure where to measure from...

The Gibson specs are 3/32" for neck pickups, 1/16" for bridge pickups in case anyone cares...
