I would certainly consider doing this as a service however,
It's not very expensive to do but, it is labor intensive.
The actual etch is only minutes, it's the prep-time and the
post etch cleaning up of the enclosure that really eats time up.
The Mosfet Boost in the photo essay was time-consuming and
Fuzzerella was about 3 times that (ya know how women are!!).
If I were to charge say $40 plus shipping for doing this,
I would be making about $4.00 an hour!!
on the other hand, I offered up my "secrets" which in reality were just
my trial and error, as my contribution to this forum. I'm not the Elvis
of etching by any means but, I know what works for me.
I'm really trying to learn my way around electronics + schematics
and none of you fellas has charged me for the countless amount of info you have
provided for me whether you know it or not (I search this site ALOT!).
I just don't know how I would feel about doing it for Xtra $$$$.
Extra pesos would buy lots of parts from Steve Daniels though!!!!

Certainly don't let a doofus like me goad you into doing anything, and don't take the suggested price-point too seriously either.  That being said, if you felt like doing it on the side, and didn't promise too much to potential customers (the bane of every one-man operation's existence), I think some of the folks around here would be happy to send some work your way.  As for what your hourly revenue ends up being, after a certain point, the work starts to be more efficient.  Heck, I wouldn't be surprised if there was a bunch of people who'd be happy to shell out for a pre-machined 1590B with 3 pot-holes, one for 3PDT, one for LED, three on the side for in/out jacks and adaptor, and "Distortion/Tone/Volume" indelibly etched onto the surface.  Or for that matter, choose from a half-dozen border patterns, 3 different hole layouts, and 4 different legend options.  The more standardized you can make it, the less work on your part.

Ya know,
I never looked at it that way.....
Interesting indeed.
It truly would be a good way to help finance my "addiction"
to building guitar effects!
Maybe some of the independent builders would be interested in doing a limited run??
As far as a doofus goes.....
You yourself Mark have been VERY helpful to me to say the least.
One can learn much from reading your posts. Sometimes you go over my head
but more and more, I'm understanding and I am Fascinated to say the least by building
and tinkering with circuits.
Thanks again ;)

I admire your work, Mark. Great etching as always.

Though you still have some room to develop before you reach the outstanding etching technique and precise complexity of $uperpuma.  ;D

Just kidding. Amazing work. :)
