need to dial in "clean" with my bsiab. mix knob?

hey guys.  maybe i am an idiot, but i checked the archives and couldn't really find what i was looking for...

has anyone else here ever tried adding a mix control or clean level to a bsiab II?  ideally like the sparkle drive setup or something...

ANY HELP would be met with exuberant woohoo's and such.

Off the top of my head, I would try running the output of the effect to lug 3 of a 500kL pot, then the tip of the input jack to lug 1, then send lug 2 to the output jack tip (or to the switch if you are using true bypass).  I think this should act as a blend knob but I haven't tried it.
