I was talking to a guy yesterday ,who said that Fultone is making a new version of the echoplex. He also said the origonal tape heads are no longer used by fuller, and that he is using 1/4" tape and record/play back heads.Where can one get standard heads at cheap prices.Ive got an ep-3 and want to convert the heads over to the new style. Fuller is also making his own high quality replacement tapes, which are much better than what is now available .  Anyone have a source????

I can't answer you... but I deeply interested in the subject.

No later than last week, I listened to a DVD (Strat Pack) and remembered that when I began playing the guitar, I dreamed of when I could buy an Echoplex to go with the kind of music I was playing at the time (ok, ok, I'm 57  :-[)

I also remembered that I never had one because I stopped playing guitar before I could afford one. But I also realised that I liked the sound, and I still would love to have one now that I play guitar again ::)

My wife also went crazy when she heard the guys play on that DVD because his brother HAD an Echoplex, and it was reminding her of good moments.

What I'm interested to know is how the new one compare with the old one, and what about the solid-state one. Is it possible to buy a compact pedal with the same sound. (Be it Boss, or any other brand.

Sorry, don't want to hi-jack your thread, so I'll just keep reading now...
