hi,

i've searched for "limiters" and "protection" and i can't find answers...

before i plug anything into my amp, i want to make sure i don't blow it up (the amp, that is).
also, i 'll be plugging in to my separate preamp where i will need protection, too.

first, is it necessary?  can i blow my equipment with a 9v battery? how about a 12v battery... or even 2x9v battery?  what about a wall-wart which might produce more current?

can anyone point me to simple schematics for this, or are they complex things?  i don't have any FETs and the shops have closed this evening...

kind regards,

jack

Firstly, you need to find out what the input stage of your amp is.  Valve?  Transistor?  Chip?  If it needs protecting, Geofex is your next port of call.

Plenty of posts by RG on all this (one recently on how much valve input stages can take).
