ROHM manufactures this chip BA3812L,the frequencies are controlled by external caps so we can taylor it for guitar.

Check out GEO, 10/13/99, http://geofex.com/Article_Folders/EQs/greqs.gif for two versions of a seven band EQ - or a five band if you ignore two of them.

The KA2223 is a variant of the ROHM chip, with opamps on board and some transistor based gyrators to make a classical cut/boost graphic from a pot and a series RLC circuit on each pot.

Oddly, the two-opamp version I did was as easy to get into the same sized PCB as the special purpose EQ chip it did the same job as.

In response to the questions in the forum - PCB Layout for Musical Effects is available from The Book Patch. Search "PCB Layout" and it ought to appear.

Thanks RG.Interesting how it takes the same board space with and without the integrated chip.
If the ROHM chip is inexpensive it might still be worth the effort.
I wonder if somebody got 2 or 3 of these chips ,for example the PT 2399,the compressor chip we had kicking around a while back and the ROHM EQ and make a diy multieffects of sorts.
