Question about drilling holes for 16mm alpha pots

Can someone tell me about drilling hole for pin that should prevent pot movement. Before I would just cut it off, but I'd like to start using it.
If anyone knows distance from center of axis and diameter of hole (3mm should be ok?) it would be great!
