LED indicator for Deluxe Electric Mistress

I want to add 3PDT true bypass to my reissue electric mistress pedal. I'm kind of hesitant on modding it because it runs on AC and i don't really trust my self with such high voltage. I was thinking about using a 9v battery just for lighting the LED. Would this work or would it add hum from a ground loop or something? I also want to replace the filter matrix switch with a stomp switch also with an LED but i think i can figure that out.

I don't think high voltage should be a problem with this. Look at the AC adaptor--is it 40V, 100ma? That's very manageable.

Connect your leds in series with a 15 ohm 1/2 watt resistor. Then do the conventional true bypass wiring.

I just finished a re-house of an EHX Frequency Analyzer doing basically the same thing, including converting a slide switch to a stompswitch with a LED.
