Cool pedal.  Recommended for any one who wants a nice crunchy overdrive.  Anybody want to chime in with they're experiences? Mods?

I liked the may Queen but found it a bit too "shrill" sounding.
I think that I just increased a couple of caps, the 10n's, to 15n or 22n
can't remember for sure, but that was better for me !
I included the optional 2n2 cap as well ( on the ROG schem )

I built one a while back due to the small amount of parts involved and added a gain control (that varies the gain just a little) and a tone control (basic low-pass filter; works well, but decreases the volume a bit as you roll off those highs).
Like BrianJ says, it's a cool pedal. I don't find it as useful as my BSIAB 2 or Dr. Boogey, but it's got its own sound. That thing can get LOUD, but it's surprisingly quiet.
The first time I played it, it reminded me very much of the guitar sound in Bowie's 'Ziggy Stardust'. It's got quite a bit of gain to it as well, but it's a wonderfully nasty, midrangey distortion.
