Hey, I'm really really new to this whole electronics/diy effects thing. (that is probably said often here)
but anyway, I am wondering if there is a site or a book that maybe breaks down a couple of different effects and shows what each component does to the tone and why it links to the next one and so on and so forth.

I have limited experience with this stuff and when i learn something, I generally like to know how and why things do what they do.

I would really appreciate anybody's help. One day I would like to be able to design my own effects and circuits. (i realise that it doesnt happen overnight)

thanks all

Gosh, you guys are the bomb!

thank you once again

One more question: what does this site (or any diy site for that matter) mean when it refers to 'bias'?

Start in the "Electronics" section at GEO and work your way backwards.
