Take a look at the various Orange schems, you'll notice that the EQ is sometimes after the first stage, and sometimes after the second! I think that has surely some impact on the sound and the way preamp sounds overdriven...

Yes I saw, I'm sure too it has an impact in final sound.

i can tell you that when HOF play in the states Pike does not use the rig that you stated above.   it has  changed from Green and a Marshall(i think) to a JCM and a Soldano rig IIRC.  it's been a while since i've seen them, but their latest record has that growly Soldano midrange all over it.

Yeah i think i'll try this design ! seem to be very cool ! (better than this shity MG10)

Maybe i'll put a swtich to connect/disconect the last gain stage to have some clean sound.

For the cilps, I'll see if I can do some (I haven't sound card  and materials to make good clips),

but I take my time to do my electronic projects 'cause there's any electronic shops next to me,  so you must pe patient (and me too)


to HOF, yeah he often change his stage amp, I saw pictures where he had a sunno model t head or a marshall stack. The strange thing, he has the same sound with different amps, his sound is in his fingers ?

i know alot of it has to do with the guitar he's been playing.  some freaky first act custom 9 string model.  the top 3 are like a 12 string.

yes this guitar is awsome ! he have a very particular and personal sound, not like the standart metal sound with the mid cut.

Matamp does not release its schematics.
The original Orange amps were designed by Matamp and their schematics are similar, but Orange are more simplified.

On my website http://www.orangefg.com under "tech&mods" you can find a few different versions of Orange schematics.
The schematics of the OR80/120 have the same building blocks, but the blocks shifted place sometimes.
The FAC can be seen right after the input or else between first and second stage etc...
