Last time I bought them off e-bay I paid $2.50 for 25 but I don't know if that's a good price or not.

$2.50 for 25 doesn't sound too bad to me.
I don't really know whether it's a "good deal" or not but,
10 cents apiece sound quite reasonable.
Untested you say.....what could be wrong with them?
