Hi Folks, I`m about to build the Moddable Wah from GGG but i`m not sure about the rotary switches it asks for or where to obtain them in the UK, it asks for a 1 pole 6 position switch and a 3 pole 3 position rotary switch or can i use  2 pole 6 position and a 3 pole 4 position switch and should they be "make before break" or "break before make"(it might be this type), thanks (confused) Crawf :¬)

you can easily use a 2 pole 6 position and forget about 1 half of the switch

you can use a 4 pole 3 position instead of the 3 pole 3 position too and just forget about 1 part of it. Or use the 3 pole 4 position and use the little tab thingy at the top to allow it move only over 3 positions

Make-before-break is really only critical if you're going to do your switching around and tone-fiddling while plugged in and the wah is engaged.  The make-before-break assures that you won't hear popping.  If you know what you want and can just dial in and step on the stompswitch, then a conventional rotary will do just fine.

Note that while having 6 different ranges is a nice thing, there is no requirement to have 6 ranges.  Two or three may be perfectly fine for many users and will have no effect on the functioning of the circuit.  Same thing goes for the inductor.  The combination of selectable inductors and caps will permit a wide variety of wah sounds tobe obtained (some of which may well be unusable in your context), but these are merely options not requirements.  Again, selecting a couple of values for C2 may provide all the variation you need.

Sean,
They have some nice little inductors for a buck over at A.D.D. beside the Parkdale Market.  They measure a little under 800mh but I made a kickass wah with one. These look like "fasel-style".  I have some extras if you can't find them.

Crawf I had the same problem with the rotary switches.
I bought a 1 pole 12 positions to replace the 1 pole 6 positions. I don't know if all rotary switches are alike, but on mine I have a ring I can move and set the number of positions.  That was a nice surprise.
The two inductors in series was useless for me, I tried 2 dunlop ones and it totally ruined the wah sound. I hope you'll have better results than I.
