a friend of mine is going to build 2 pedals in one enclosure, and he wants my help connecting the two together....so the immediate problems I have, at hand, are:

1. power...how do i pump the appropriate 9volt power through to both pedals with just one input?

my dog just vomited...

2.input/output...how do i wire it so that the first pedals out put goes in to the seconds input? i dont quite know how to do that...

hes using the BYOC delay and chorus...or delay and tremolo, one of those...so i kinda have a jist of what hes doing, just not sure about connecting the two, or powering them both with one power supply.

i think thats it for now...so! what do you fellers think?  ;D

That sounds like a cool combo of effects.

This topic has been done to death in the last two weeks.

There is a switch diagram at GGG.

I highly reccomend the switch tech info at

as well as all the other great stuff there!!!!!!!

I've been doing a fair bit of combo effects lately and posted pics in this thread

This is one way to distribute power and ground, not the only way.

There is a whole bunch of switching opions in this thread

You will also want to check out mikey's multi effect build report for ideas

And there is more crazy multi efx stuff to be found with the right search words

Btw- It looks like GGG did a nice job there. I hadn't seen that before.

Yeah, I see that one in Aron's gallery come up every time this topic gets posted
(and thats a lot).

But JD's is better because the effect inputs are shunted to ground when in bypass.
Grounding the inputs is a good idea and solved RF issues with one of my combo builds.

Short patch cord?

Sorry, I couldn't resist.

Very good point unles your wanting to save on enclosures, which is sort of my case.

True that, I stuffed 4 in the one box: (dist, phase, trem, delay)

Took some doing, a lever of some discription, and a powerfull screwdriver - but hell! I got it all in!

Got it wired so you select what effects are on with the switch off and what effects are on with the switch on. Might want to incorporate such an idea yourself.

Very cool idea- how did it work out in terms of power and sound bleeding?

Well in terms of power, it uses an extra-small switchmode 9v powerpack. Theres no room for a standard 9V battery unfortunately.
Noise and sound bleeding are neglible, which is suprising considering the shear length of wires that are compressed together.
I found using data ribbon cable, stripped to give lengths of 3 wires, is brilliant for compact wiring to pots.
